Missions
Jesus shared this message: "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." John 15:12
Gilbert Presbyterian Church reaches out to our neighbors in our community through a variety of activities.
Onsite volunteering has been suspended for these groups until further notice, but we continue to look for ways to safely support them as we are able.
Please check the church calendar or Sunday bulletins for information about mission activity plans.
Feed My Starving Children - GPC members have the opportunity on a periodic basis to prepare food bags for those who are in need.
East Valley Men's Center - Opportunities are available to help provide food items, prepare and serve dinners, and to prepare bagged lunches for homeless men who are in transition. Residents at this center receive support to encourage goals of self-sufficiency.
Food pantry at Guadalupe Presbyterian Church - canned and boxed food items may be placed in our church entry. Prepare Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes.
UMOM - An organization that restores hope and rebuilds lives by providing shelter, services and affordable housing for people experiencing homelessness. GPC members serve dinner four or five times a year at the Halle Women’s Center.
JUSTA CENTER - A Resource and Day Center exclusively for Seniors in Homelessness. GPC members support this organization through collecting and donating much needed items for those in need.
Christmas Angel tree - Help provide a surprise for a child in the community this Christmas! The Angel Tree is set up at the end of November through mid-December each year.
Burk Elementary School – Provide water bottles for the students during the pandemic.
Abounding Service – This organization helps refugees learn English and connect to the community. GPC supports this through their annual fund raiser and on an individual basis.
